Milking 500 Holstein Friesian dairy cows, twice daily, in a 32/32 DeLaval Herringbone Parlour.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will play a key role within the dairy team. The main duties of the role include: -
- Milking twice daily, ensuring all activities are carried out efficiently and on time to maintain high standards of animal welfare.
- Record and report information including nutrition, breeding, genetics and animal health.
- Monitor the heat detection system. Ensure cows are presented for service to maximise levels of herd fertility. AI qualification and experience essential.
- Maintain herd records including CIS, the medicine book, health events and individual cow records.
- Ensure no milk quality failures, including antibiotic failures and excessive temperatures.
- Work as part of a team to support farm operations and the care of livestock.
Currently, milking in a ten year old 32/32 DeLaval Herringbone Parlour whilst construction takes places of a 60 point Dairymaster Rotary Parlour.
SALARY - dependant on experience / accommodation needs
Must have a legal right to work in the UK at time of application.
