Finance & Accounting Trainee (Entry Level)
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Trainee to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their accounting career who wants to gain practical experience while working towards a professional accounting qualification.
You will receive structured training and hands-on experience across a range of finance functions, giving you a solid foundation in accounting, financial reporting and business operations. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you'll develop the skills and knowledge needed to build a successful long-term career in finance.
Location & Working Pattern
- Location: Central London
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office
- Salary: £28,000–£32,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
International Travel
This role includes up to four international business trips per year, each lasting approximately 1–3 weeks. Travel destinations may include the USA, Canada, Brazil, the Netherlands and Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
As a Finance & Accounting Trainee, you'll support the finance team with a variety of day-to-day accounting activities, including:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports and management accounts.
- Completing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting VAT returns and other routine financial reporting tasks.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data is processed correctly.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Supporting internal controls and helping ensure compliance with financial procedures.
- Working with colleagues across different departments to provide financial information and support.
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and administrative efficiency.
- Building your accounting knowledge through on-the-job training and professional study.
About You
We're looking for someone who is motivated to start a career in accounting and is eager to learn.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK or EU manual driving licence.
- Willingness to study towards an ACCA or CIMA qualification (if not already studying).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
Desirable
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related subject.
- AAT qualification or equivalent finance experience.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
