Duty Manager
Full-Time | Charters Bar | Oaka Group | Peterborough
Charters is one of Peterborough's most iconic pub and live music venues, and we're looking for an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to join our management team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll be responsible for leading shifts, maintaining exceptional standards, supporting the management team, and ensuring every customer enjoys a first-class experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the venue during your shifts
- Open and close the pub, bars and beer garden safely and efficiently
- Deliver exceptional customer service and lead by example
- Train, motivate and support bar staff and supervisors
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, food quality and drink service
- Assist with stock control, ordering and cellar management
- Handle cash, tills and ensure accurate financial procedures are followed
- Support staff rotas, shift organisation and team performance
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and licensing regulations
- Support live music events, private functions and sales initiatives
- Monitor venue standards and identify opportunities to improve performance and profitability
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager or in a similar management role within hospitality
- Personal Licence is an essential
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Strong knowledge of stock control, cash handling and team management
- Ability to remain calm and lead effectively in a busy environment
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
- Passion for hospitality, customer service and creating memorable guest experiences
- Able to provide work references
