Delivery Driver - Class 2 & HIAB

George Hill is a leading independent timber merchant and building supplies provider in the North West, with branches in Oldham, Manchester, Bolton and Nelson. Founded in 1919, we’re family run and have been for 106 years. We are currently looking for a HGV Class 2 delivery driver with CPC, HIAB licence and digital tachograph driver card to join our busy Oldham branch delivering materials across the North West.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers and branches throughout the North West
Safe loading and unloading of products onto/from the delivery vehicle
Use approved methods to secure loads onto the vehicle
Check the delivery and collection paperwork is correct
Be able to represent George Hill in a professional and courteous manner at all times to customers, the general public and other road users.
Provide excellent customer service
Any other duties that may be required by the Company
Skills and Qualities
HGV Class 2 and HIAB licence essential
Digital tachograph driver card and up to date CPC records required
Previous experience within the timber and building supplies industry would be preferred.
Local area knowledge
Excellent driving Skills
Friendly, approachable and presentable
Good communication skills and a hands on approach
Experience of multidrop deliveries
Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
Ability to complete vehicle checks and maintain simple records
Hours
Full time
Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm
Overtime on a rota for Saturday’s 8am – 1pm
