Based in Stockport, Cheshire, we provide private individuals, businesses and other organisations across the UK with car and van leasing, personal contract hire (PCH) and fleet management solutions. The following is a detailed job description, for those who carry out the role of Operations Administrator within Vehicle Consulting Group Limited.
Responsibilities & Duties
To know all forms of finance offered by VCG and which select funders offer them.
To establish the pros and cons of each selected finance and provide detailed reasoning behind why you have selected this product.
To have a basic knowledge of tax and how it affects the company or individual in which the vehicle is for
Be able to expand and explain NIC charge to large commercial companies if they are not aware and why certain vehicles should consider for the company
Have an active role in learning and understanding new technologies introduced and how best to implement them to gain competitive edge in the market
Understand electric vehicles and being able to effectively sell them when an opportunity arises for a company.
Have a full understand of and be able to sell products and services in a compliant manner.
Prospecting to existing customers, identifying buying signals, and future buying patterns.
Conduct fact find with customers and where required speak to dealers to build and specification for customer quotes
Managing the whole life customer cycle. Including immediate follow up, active follow up during life of the agreement, and the renewal of the vehicle.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
To identify and actively seek New Business opportunities. Updating Sales Management System with all future vehicle acquisitions and buying dates.
To listen to clients’ needs and requirements, by qualifying a customer correctly, and make a number of recommendations/suggestions. Ensuring the customer receives the products and services requested in a timely manner.
Work with our Manufacturer/Dealer to find appropriate stock for the customer.
Operate and understand our leasing company systems. Obtain the best price for the customer by using these systems efficiently.
Transfer the best available price for the client, into the Sales Management System.
Manage the sales process, taking a customer from a Prospect, through good qualification, presentation of a suitable offer, and recognising the most appropriate time to close the sale.
Obtain a signed customer order form & obtain a fully completed customer finance proposal, incorporating all necessary data protection requirements.
Transfer the customer finance proposal into the appropriate finance company system.
Obtain a finance decision, and advise the customer of the finance company’s decision. Obtain additional information, where appropriate, from the customer and transfer this to the finance company.
Negotiate discounts and favourable terms with a dealer or manufacturer.
Understand and operate within the framework of the BVRLA (British Rental and Vehicle Leasing Association).
Work within the guidelines of the Financial Conduct Authority.
Treat Customers Fairly.
Qualifications and Skills

Solid sales skills, negotiation & closing of deals
Ability to manage high volumes of activity whilst maintaining accuracy of work
Solid organisational skills, able to multi-task and prioritise workload
Proven experience in relationship, stakeholder and customer management
Adaptable, willingness to learn new processes and tasks
Key Performance Indicators/Measures of Success
Adherence to Individual Operating Plans for both margin & volume
Accuracy of customer documentation within agreed tolerances
Customer complaints or FCA & BVRLA principal breaches
