Dance Specialist – North Lincolnshire (Salaried, September Start)
Join First Step Physical Education as a Dance Specialist, delivering inspiring, structured dance sessions to primary school pupils on a salaried basis across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire from September 2026.

The Position
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dance Specialist to work with our partner primary schools, delivering high-quality dance sessions that build pupils' coordination, confidence and love of performing arts. You will plan and deliver a range of dance styles and themed lessons, teaching the same groups each term so you can track progress and build strong relationships with pupils.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver dance lessons and a variety of sports to primary school aged pupils
- Plan and adapt schemes of work across a range of dance styles
- Assess and record pupil progress each term
- Be assertive, engaging and respected by pupils
- Demonstrate professionalism when working with school staff and parents
- Travel to various school sites across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire areas
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- A dance teaching qualification or equivalent
- Minimum one year's teaching/coaching experience
- Experience creating and following lesson plans
- An interest in delivering other areas of the PE curriculum (Gymnastics, Games, OAA, Athletics)
- GCSE Maths and English
- First Aid and Child Protection training (training can be provided)
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport, as travel between sites is required
The recruitment process consists of three stages: a telephone interview, a practical assessment, and a face-to-face interview.
