Road Marking Operative (Trainee) - Edinburgh (Dalkeith)
Fastlane Road Markings is looking for a trainee Road Marking Operative to join our Edinburgh team. Full training given - no experience needed.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Road Marking Operative (Trainee), you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, learning the trade while supporting with hands-on tasks across car parks, warehouses, factories, schools and sports pitches etc., mainly on private sites (not public highways) - ensuring variety and new challenges every day.
This is an active, outdoor role that involves teamwork, problem solving, and physical hands-on work, on-site, in-person.

No road marking experience? No problem – we’ll teach you. What matters most is attitude, coachability, attention to detail, hard-work and reliability.
You’ll need:
- A coachable attitude, willing to take instruction, apply it, take feedback and develop.
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability to support our customers and your team.
- A strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude.
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- Your own reliable transport to and from our yard in Dalkeith EH22 4AD.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Excellent customer service skills: You’ll be part of a team trusted to work on busy sites where professionalism and excellent communication with clients & the public is essential.
- Literacy and numeracy skills to follow written instructions, read site drawings, and set out markings accurately.
- Strong awareness of health & safety with a dynamic risk assessment mindset.
- Pride in your work, quality as standard with great attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasionally away from home.
- Willingness to complete a Disclosure Scotland and security vetting process (for schools, hospitals, prisons etc).
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety / construction related environment.
- Other relevant training/qualifications – First Aid, Manual Handling, etc
