Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various technical skills related to gas installation, maintenance, and repair. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of gas systems in residential and commercial settings.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and heating systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections of gas systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assemble and install pipework using hand tools and power tools as required.
- Perform welding tasks to secure fittings and connections where necessary.
- Plumb gas lines accurately, ensuring all connections are leak-free.
- Carry out heavy lifting as needed for equipment installation and removal.
- Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters, to ensure seamless project completion.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various issues effectively.
- Proficiency in using both hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required.
- A valid commercial driving licence is advantageous for transportation of equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
