Hours Per Week: 37.5- 7,5-hour shifts between 8-6 with 1 hour lunch break

Are you passionate about technology and keen to build acareer in IT? We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic WorkshopApprentice to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experienceworking with a wide range of IT equipment while completing a recognisedapprenticeship programme. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, learninghow to build, configure, test, repair, and prepare devices for customer deployments and business use.
About the Role
As a Workshop Apprentice, you'll support the day-to-dayactivities of our workshop whilst developing valuable technical skills andindustry knowledge. You'll receive practical training and mentoring fromexperienced engineers and gain exposure to a broad range of IT hardware,software, and deployment processes.
This role is designed to help you build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for a successful career in IT support, engineering, or infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
Hardware Build & Configuration
- Assisting with the build, configuration, and testing of laptops, desktops, servers, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Learning how to install operating systems, software applications, and updates.
- Supporting device imaging and deployment preparation activities.
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure devices are ready for customer use.
- Preparing equipment for delivery, installation, or collection.
Workshop Operations
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the workshop.
- Assisting with equipment booking-in and booking-out procedures.
- Helping maintain accurate records of devices and assets.
- Learning workshop processes and best practices.
- Maintaining a tidy, organised, and safe working environment.
Repairs & Diagnostics
- Learning how to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues.
- Supporting engineers with repairs and component replacements.
- Recording repair work and technical findings accurately.
- Escalating complex issues to senior team members when required.
Stock & Asset Management
- Assisting with receiving and checking supplier deliveries.
- Supporting stock management and inventory activities.
- Helping track IT equipment throughout the build and deployment process.
- Supporting stock audits and asset management tasks.
Teamwork & Development
- Working closely with Workshop Engineers, Service Desk teams, Projects, and Procurement.
- Participating in apprenticeship learning and development activities.
- Building technical knowledge through practical experience and formal training.
- Developing strong communication, organisation, and customer service skills.

Following successful completion of apprenticeship the idea is to move the individual into a Workshop Engineer role. within the company.
Training Provided:
Firebrand’s sector-leading Level 3 Information Communication Technician (L3ICT) Apprenticeship Programme trains apprentices to deliver efficient operation and control of the IT and Telecommunications infrastructure and to deliver and support the information systems needs of an organisation. Options include pathways for Support Technician, Network Technician and Digital Communications Technician.
Firebrands course is delivered either Online (online live instructor led), or face to face in the classroom environment (your choice). Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Learning Mentors (LMs) and world-leading trainers prepare apprentices to work across multiple sectors.
Completion of this apprenticeship will provide learners with the following world class vendor certifications in addition to the Information Communication
Technician apprenticeship:
- Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- CompTIA IT Fundamentals+
- Certiport IT Specialist Networking
- Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Key areas covered are:
- Support Technician
- Maintenance or repair of systems faults
- Support for the roll-out of installation and commission of new systems or upgrades

- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
- IT-related studies, qualifications, or coursework.
- Experience building, upgrading, or repairing computers as a hobby or through education.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Previous work experience, volunteering, or customer service experience.
