Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and cooking, with a strong understanding of food safety standards. Duties
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring smooth workflow
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
- Ensure all food is prepared to high standards, paying attention to presentation and quality
- Contribute to menu development ideas and assist with special culinary projects
- Manage stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Serve food efficiently during service periods, maintaining a professional attitude at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen operations within a hospitality or restaurant environment
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service times
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- Experience in food preparation, culinary techniques, and restaurant service is highly desirable
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards, including serving procedures and customer service excellence

Please note that this is a part-time position. We are offering around 15 - 20 hours per week. Shift will be mainly weekends.
