We’re on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at The Woodman at Clent. With a focus on freshly prepared dishes, premium sharing steaks, and bold flavours, we’re building a kitchen team that takes pride in quality, consistency, and teamwork.
About the Role:
As a Sous Chef, you’ll run your own section confidently and consistently, ensuring every dish leaving your pass meets our high standards. You’ll work closely with senior chefs and help train junior team members, while contributing to a positive and professional kitchen culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook dishes to a high standard across your section
- Maintain consistency, presentation, and portion control at all times
- Support the Head and Sous Chefs with daily prep and smooth service
- Take ownership of mise en place, cleanliness, and organisation of your section
- Work within health, safety, and food hygiene standards at all times
- Contribute ideas for specials and new dishes
- Assist with stock rotation and wastage control
- Help mentor and support junior team members
About You:
- Previous experience as a sous chef in a fresh food kitchen
- Confident in working independently and as part of a team
- Passionate about fresh ingredients, quality produce, and clean execution
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Calm under pressure and able to deliver during busy service
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the team

Pay: £34,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
