Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and reliable Complex Care Worker to join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred support to people living in their own homes.
Previous hands-on complex care experience is essential for this position and is a critical requirement of the role. This is not an entry-level care position, and applicants must be able to demonstrate relevant experience supporting people with complex health and care needs.
You will play an important role in promoting each person's dignity, independence, choice, safety and quality of life, while delivering care in accordance with their individual support plans, risk assessments and clinical guidance.
We are looking for someone who is confident, professional and calm, with the ability to recognise changes in a person's presentation and respond appropriately.
Essential Complex Care Experience
Applicants must have practical experience in complex care, which may include:
- PEG feeding and PEG care
- Stoma care
- Tracheostomy care
- Ventilation support
- Oral and/or airway suction
- Cough Assist
- Medication support and administration
- Moving and handling
- Personal care
- Supporting people with reduced mobility
- Monitoring and recognising changes in health and wellbeing
- Following detailed clinical care plans and risk assessments

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal care, including bathing, washing, dressing, grooming and continence support.
- Deliver complex care interventions safely and in accordance with the person's agreed care plan and clinical guidance.
- Support with PEG feeding, stoma care, tracheostomy care, ventilation, suction and Cough Assist, where required and following appropriate training and competency assessment.
- Administer and support with medication in accordance with prescribed guidance and company procedures.
- Support people with eating, drinking, meal preparation and nutritional requirements.
- Assist with mobility, repositioning and transfers using appropriate moving and handling techniques and equipment.
- Recognise and report changes in a person's physical health, emotional wellbeing or behaviour.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow escalation procedures.
- Support people to maintain their independence and participate in meaningful activities within their home and community.
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance.
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
- Complete clear, accurate and professional care records.
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, healthcare professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Follow safeguarding, infection prevention, health and safety and confidentiality requirements at all times.
- Respect the person's choices, preferences, routines, privacy and dignity throughout every aspect of their support.
What We Are Looking For
The successful applicant will:
- Have valid, demonstrable previous experience working within complex care – essential.
- Be confident delivering complex care safely within a person's own home.
- Have experience with PEG, stoma care, tracheostomy care, ventilation, suction and/or Cough Assist.
- Have a good understanding of person-centred care.
- Be able to recognise deterioration or changes in a person's condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Have good knowledge of safeguarding and duty of care.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be compassionate, patient, respectful and reliable.
- Be able to work confidently both independently and as part of a wider care team.
- Have excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Be able to follow detailed support plans, clinical guidance and risk assessments.
- Be willing to undertake ongoing training and competency assessments relevant to the people being supported.
- Hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence, as driving is required as part of this role.

Pay: £15.00-£19.00 per hour
