Overview
We’re looking for a confident and compassionate Shift Leader to Cover maternity and to help us deliver exceptional respite care for children and young adults with complex disabilities at Cherry Trees Goldcrest. You’ll lead and support the care team, plan engaging activities and smooth daily routines, and provide high‑quality, hands‑on personalised care. With strong organisational skills and a child‑centred approach, you’ll ensure safeguarding, medication, documentation, and emergency procedures are followed to the highest standards. You’ll also mentor staff, promote positive relationships with families and colleagues, and help uphold our commitment to dignity, independence, and putting the child first in everything we do. You will be a keyworker for children and supporting with MDT meetings and referrals of new children.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise care staff to ensure the delivery of high standards of care for children.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Provide direct care and support to children, promoting their wellbeing, development, and safety.
- Oversee daily activities, ensuring they are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with care objectives.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to care plans, progress reports, and incident records using IT systems.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals to coordinate care and support services.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
- Support the training and supervision of junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment.
- Assist with transportation duties if required, including driving children to appointments or activities.
