Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an opportunity to develop specialised skills in coffee preparation and food service within a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a high standard of food safety. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces regularly.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system.
- Follow food safety standards at all times to ensure the health and safety of customers and staff.
- Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, cups, lids, and utensils.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when required, such as assembling snacks or light meals.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
- Uphold the organisation’s standards of hygiene, safety, and customer care at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing food service role is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations relevant to the hospitality industry.
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Ability to work well within a team whilst maintaining individual responsibilities.
