Contract to start ASAP until 27-11-26 with a possible extension.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and inform on all SEN statutory matters and best practice so that schools and settings, Plan Writers, Advisory Officers and other partners can operate within the policy and legal requirements
- Deal with enquiries relating to SEN using discretion in forming responses so that advice on the area of work dealt with by the team is consistent
- Advise and support parents, young people and their representatives, so that they are able to make informed decisions
- Undertake casework as appropriate to ensure SEN assessment and monitoring processes are implemented in accordance with statutory regulations and service policies (e.g. funding, provision, transport)
- Support and assist the SEN Management Team in ensuring that statutory functions are completed within timescales as defined within the SEN Code of Practice
- Ensure that the EHCP Hub and the SEN databases are updated accurately and in a timely manner so that statutory timescales are met and performance is measured
- Complete the administrative tasks relating to the monitoring of budgets and the allocation of SEN resources e.g. transport in line with local authority financial regulations
- Represent the team at some service related meetings to ensure that procedures are followed and appropriate information is collated so that Government legislation and Council policies and procedures are adhered to
- Develop relationships with and provide advice on procedures to officers where appropriate
- Prepare agendas and minutes and draft reports relating to Moderation and Provision Panels for pupils with SEN and other projects so that proper and accurate records are kept and ensure that appropriate follow up action is taken
