Day Centre Support Worker

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Support Workers to join our team.
Our Day Centre supports adults with a wide range of individual needs, including older people, people living with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and those who require support with personal care and daily living.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days will be exactly the same.
About the Role
As a Day Centre Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support based around each individual's needs, choices, abilities and interests.
Your role will include:
- Supporting individuals with personal care, including toileting and continence needs where required
- Supporting mobility and safe moving and handling
- Providing support to people with learning disabilities and additional needs
- Supporting individuals experiencing mental health difficulties
- Supporting older people, including those living with dementia
- Encouraging independence, choice and involvement in everyday activities
- Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support
- Supporting individuals at mealtimes where required
- Organising and participating in activities, games and social events
- Supporting community activities and outings
- Following individual care plans and risk assessments
- Maintaining accurate care records
- Recognising and reporting any changes or concerns regarding an individual's wellbeing
- Working closely with colleagues to provide safe, consistent and high-quality support
Activities & Engagement
A big part of the role is helping people have an enjoyable and meaningful day.
We want staff who are willing to get involved — whether that's arts and crafts, cooking, music, games, quizzes, gardening, gentle exercise, sensory activities, trips out or simply sitting down with someone for a chat and a cup of tea.
We're also keen to hear your ideas! Activities should be based around the interests and abilities of the people attending rather than simply filling the day.

You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, but you do need to be approachable, caring and genuinely interested in the people you support.

Previous care or support experience would be beneficial, particularly within learning disabilities, mental health, dementia or adult social care, although training and support can be provided to the right person.
