Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to individuals in home care settings, assisting with daily activities and ensuring their wellbeing. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and transferring, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Administer medication following prescribed care plans (where authorised)
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff
- Support clients in engaging in social activities and promoting their independence
- Drive or accompany clients to appointments or outings, if necessary
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for all
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care delivery
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving transportation of clients
- Good command of English, both spoken and written, to ensure clear communication
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and updating care records
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and work effectively within a team
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt approaches based on individual needs
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
