New Formation Education are working with a well-established primary school in Peckham, South London, to recruit a committed and reliable Early Years Teaching Assistant to start in September. The school is seeking someone who can become a consistent and valued presence within the Reception and Early Years classes for the full academic year.
What This Role Actually Involves
You’ll be:
- Supporting Reception-aged children with their learning, play, and daily routines
- Working 1:1 with children with SEN or additional needs
- Leading small group activities to develop early language, communication, phonics, and number skills
- Encouraging social, emotional, and personal development through structured play and classroom activities
- Helping children settle into school life and build confidence in a nurturing environment
- Acting as a calm, positive adult presence throughout the school day
You’ll be trusted to build strong relationships with young learners and contribute meaningfully to their early development during a vital stage of their education.

- Have worked with young children in any hands-on capacity (nurseries, preschools, childminding, sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, mentoring, residential care, etc.)
- Have an interest in Early Years education

- Want valuable classroom experience before teacher training or a long-term career in education
- Can commit Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm for the full academic year
