Hours of work: 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (one 9.30am start, day TBC)
Closing date: Friday 31 July (depending on application level, the post may close early)
Interview date: Tuesday 11 August
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and supportive Reception team. You will be joining 14 colleagues and your job will be to ensure that, at all times, a high standard of service is given to all patients, visitors and the wider healthcare team. Reception staff work on a rota covering different tasks throughout the opening hours of the Practice. These tasks rotate throughout the day to ensure variety within the role and to promote skills across different disciplines.
The Reception area is the first contact patients and visitors will have with the Practice and, therefore, it is extremely important to be friendly and approachable at all times. This role is varied and includes general communication with patients, making appointments, processing prescription requests, processing home visit requests, responding to enquiries from external parties and actioning requests as per GP instruction.
This is a demanding role and requires strong communication and organisational skills, and confidence using computers. The post holder must work accurately with patient data, maintain confidentiality, and use initiative to solve problems independently within the parameters of the job. Experience in customer service - ideally in a General Practice - is preferred, though training is provided. Candidates must be able to multitask in a busy environment, show patience and empathy, stay calm under pressure, and be eager to learn and develop as part of a team.
Please note – we anticipate a high level of interest in this position and may close the vacancy early once a sufficient amount of applications are received. Therefore, please make sure you submit your application at an early stage.
