Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living and home care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to improve the lives of others through attentive caregiving and personalised support. This paid role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals, including those with Autism, Learning Difficulties or requiring personal care. Experience in senior care, patient care, or childcare is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised patient and client care, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Assist with daily activities such as mobility support, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
- Administer medication following prescribed instructions and maintain accurate records
- Support individuals with Autism and Learning Difficulties through behaviour management techniques
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with personal hygiene routines including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with medical needs such as first aid administration when necessary
- Drive clients to appointments or outings safely and responsibly if required
- Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living environments, or home care is desirable
- Knowledge of autism, learning difficulties and behaviour management techniques
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties (if applicable)
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required and assist with mobility needs
- First aid certification is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided
- Strong communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if necessary
