Job Title: Assembly Fitter

Role Overview
As an Assembly Fitter, you will work in a fast-paced workshop environment, assembling cylinders from raw components such as barrels, pistons, rods, and seals. You will also be responsible for pressure testing completed units and diagnosing any mechanical or hydraulic faults.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
· Assembly & Installation: Build and install hydraulic cylinders, seals, bearings, and hoses in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
· Testing & Quality Control: Perform high-pressure testing on completed cylinders to identify leaks or performance issues before dispatch.
· Maintenance & Repair: Refurbish and service used hydraulic units, identifying wear patterns and replacing failed components.
· Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret complex hydraulic schematics and technical engineering drawings.
· Precision Measurement: Use various measuring equipment to ensure all parts meet exact tolerances and specifications.
Requirements & Skills
· Experience: Previous mechanical fitting experience, ideally within a hydraulic or heavy engineering environment.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand tools and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults.
· Qualifications: Relevant certifications in mechanical or hydraulic engineering are often preferred.
· Attributes: A methodical worker with high attention to detail who can work to tight production deadlines.
Working hours Mon – Thurs 07:45 – 16:45 and Fri 07:45 – 13:45
