Are you an experienced CNC Machinist looking to join a busy and growing engineering business? Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to support the manufacture, refurbishment and repair of specialist equipment. Working within a well-equipped workshop environment, you will be responsible for machining components to precise specifications, preparing equipment for welding activities and ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the manufacturing process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in producing high-quality work within a fast-paced engineering environment.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Preparing CNC programmes and carrying out first-off inspections
- Manufacturing products in line with engineering drawings and route sheet instructions
- Machining valves and equipment prior to welding operations
- Finishing machined components following welding and heat treatment activities
- Conducting in-process inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards
- Maintaining full product traceability throughout the manufacturing process
- Carrying out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping activities
- Supporting the development and training of apprentices and new team members
Applicants to this role require:
- Time-served Machinist, Fitter/Turner or equivalent Engineering Apprentice
- Previous CNC machining experience within a manufacturing or engineering workshop environment
- Experience working with Heidenhain controls
- Strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude and commitment to producing quality work safely and efficiently
