Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Worker to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role involves engaging children in educational activities, supporting their developmental needs, and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality childcare. Previous nursery experience and strong communication skills are essential to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and team members. The successful applicant will demonstrate leadership qualities and management skills to ensure smooth daily operations within the nursery setting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for children in a nursery environment, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development
- Support children's emotional and social development through positive interaction and guidance
- Maintain a clean, organised, and inviting nursery space conducive to learning and play
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns
- Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily routines, activities, and special events
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and updating child files
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and nursery policies
Experience
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early childhood education setting is preferred
- Working with children of various ages, demonstrating patience and understanding
- Knowledge of childcare best practices and early childhood development principles
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
