Breakfast & Meeting Room Manager
£36,000 per year 45 hours per week
This is a rare chance to join an award-winning, independently owned hospitality group as Breakfast & Meeting Room Manager at The Somers Town Coffee House, a destination pub, restaurant and meeting rooms venue in the heart of London. You’ll lead the running of breakfast and lunch service across the pub and restaurant, and take charge of our meeting rooms operation, with real autonomy, backed by an experienced and supportive leadership team.
If you’re a natural leader with hospitality management experience and a background running meeting rooms or private hire spaces, we’d love to meet you.
We Are
Hoste Hospitality, an award-winning group of independent venues built on individual character rather than a corporate template. From cosy traditional pubs and private dining spaces to a stunning cocktail bar, every one of our sites is designed to feel like part of its community. We believe in local, and we believe in becoming ever more sustainable.
Our family of venues includes: The Victoria, Somers Town Coffee House, Cosy, Faber, Above The Vic, Tallyman and Tribeca Storehouse.
Everyone on the team is part of our success, and we share it through progression, rewards, and the option to go on and hold shares in your own venue.
You Are: Passionate, Curious & Fanatical
It goes without saying that everyone in hospitality is hardworking, outgoing and punctual, all the obvious traits. But what we're really after is people who are PASSIONATE about our guests' happiness and enjoyment; CURIOUS to keep learning and creating something new; and FANATICAL about what we do, sustainable British ingredients, recipes and drinks.
We're not looking for someone to fit a mould. We want individuals bursting with character who can also work brilliantly as part of a team that always has each other's backs. When it comes to progressing into senior roles, we want role models, people who lead, not manage. From founder to newest recruit, we're all one team, all involved in making the guest experience as close to perfect as possible.
- You'll inspire and lead from the front, not just manage, bringing strong team spirit and integrity to the role.
- We're growing, with exciting projects on the horizon, so we're looking for people who want to help build one of our flagship sites into one of London's best.
What's Good
- Competitive pay: £36,000 minimum, for 45 hours per week.
- 100% of tronc distributed fairly to the team.
- 50% discount on food in work, and for you plus 3 guests when you visit off duty.
- Free staff food on every shift.
- Real career opportunities, with the ability to earn shares or go on to run your own venue.
- Open, proactive training in wines, food and cocktails, plus industry-recognised qualifications.
- A sustainably minded business with real ethics.
- Staff events and incentives throughout the year.
- £300 team referral bonus.
- Wellbeing and support partnership with LT Charity.
- Nest pension scheme.
What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years' experience as a manager in hospitality, ideally across pub, restaurant and meeting room or events operations.
- Proven experience servicing meeting rooms or private hire spaces from room set-up and AV/equipment checks to catering coordination and liaising with corporate clients and event organisers.
- A proven track record of leading teams and delivering exceptional results.
- A genuine passion for food, drink and people.
- An individual keen to learn and develop, with an appetite to grow within the company.
- Natural leadership, integrity and the drive to make this flagship site one of London's best.
Responsibilities
- Run the pub, restaurant and meeting rooms each day, ensuring smooth, high-quality breakfast and lunch service from open to handover.
- Manage the meeting rooms operation end-to-end: room set-up, AV and equipment checks, catering coordination, and liaison with corporate clients and event organisers.
- Lead, train and mentor the team, building a strong, motivated morning shift across all areas of the venue.
- Maintain the highest standards of guest service, with a strong focus on sustainability and seasonality.
- Handle guest and client feedback with professionalism, turning it into real improvements.
- Ensure the venue, pub, restaurant and meeting rooms alike is safe, clean and welcoming at all times.
- Support the wider Management team with stock control, ordering and daily administration.
