Senior Sous Chef – Full time
Location: Balgove Larder, St Andrews Hours: Full-time, including evenings and weekends Contract: Permanent
We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Senior Sous Chef to join our iconic Steak Barn kitchen. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking over fire, working with exceptional local produce, and delivering high-quality food in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing a large brigade over a service kitchen and prep kitchen
- Working with our Market Garden grower to create seasonal menus and specials
- Ensuring mise en place is done to a high standard by the team
- Cooking Steak Barn menu items to a consistently high standard
- Supporting the Head Chef
- Training & coaching commis, CDPs and sous.
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Working closely with the wider Steak Barn team during busy services
- Supporting stock control and waste reduction
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working as a sous chef in a fast-paced kitchen
- Passion for local produce and quality ingredients
- Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Evening and weekend availability
