About OM Training Hub
OM Training Hub is an independent organisation creating a centralised space to connect Approved Trainers and Service Providers with individuals and organisations who require the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability & Autism. Our mission is to make this training affordable and accessible, while supporting and enhancing opportunities for Facilitators and Expert Co-Trainers.
The role
We’re recruiting self-employed Support Workers to provide calm, enabling support to our Expert Co-Trainers (Experts by Lived Experience), helping them feel confident and supported in delivering training. This includes online session support, travel support for face-to-face delivery, and proactive coordination with the OMTH core team.
Important: This role does not include any elements of physical care.
Key responsibilities
Training support (online):
- Support co-trainers during online sessions (2–4 sessions per week, 3–4 hours each including travel)
- Provide emotional reassurance before, during and after sessions as needed
- Work towards enabling co-trainers to deliver sessions more independently over time
Travel support (face-to-face):
- Accompany co-trainers to face-to-face sessions (approx. 2–4 per week, increasing from April 2026)
- Support travel training via public transport, aiming for increasing independence
- Coordinate travel plans with the Project Officer
- Help source a replacement co-trainer if someone is unwell
- A training session is typically 3 hours, with travel meaning your day may be 5–7 hours depending on location/transport
Communication & coordination:
- Maintain regular communication with the Project Officer about rotas, travel, and any concerns
- Liaise with co-trainers to organise cover when needed
- Work collaboratively with the OMTH Core Team to understand training delivery prior to supporting sessions
Induction & team integration:
Receive induction from the OMTH Core Team
- Attend a group meet-and-greet with co-trainers in Swindon, followed by individual introductions
Travel & expenses
- Mileage reimbursed at £0.45 per mile (invoiced directly to the Hub)
- Train travel can be arranged/purchased by OMTH Core Team
- Occasional overnight stays may be required (with advance notice)
