JOB PURPOSE
The role of the Workshop Controller is to:
- Manage the process of optimising workshop resources to meet agreed departmental budgets.
- Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated in an effective manner to other members of the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Calculate and manage the effective use of workshop resources for the business.
- Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met.
- Plan the distribution of work amongst the team utilising available skills mix.
- Manage liaison between workshop and Sales team on vehicle progress.
- Prepare estimates including parts detail, right through to invoicing
- Monitor and maintain workshop standards in accordance with brand requirements alongside the Service Manager.
- Maintain and develop own skills and technical knowledge.
- Maintain safe working practices and abide by the working rules and standards of the business.
- Management of internal preparation work from start to finish
Skills & Requirements
Essential:
- Competency in numeracy, literacy and IT.
- Good organisational and leadership skill with the ability to delegate and motivate the team.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Mechanical background
Experience
Desirable:
- Relevant manufacturer experience.
