About Tailfin
We're a high-growth, premium bikepacking equipment brand that designs and produces a range of high-quality, long-lifecycle products sold D2C through our website.
Our CRM Manager is going on maternity leave, and we need someone to own our email marketing and CRM function while she's away. This is a fixed-term role focused purely on email/Klaviyo.
You'll take over a growing Klaviyo program (flows live, list growing, campaigns running weekly) and keep it performing – plus bring your own ideas to increase our output and effectiveness.
We're based in Bristol and operate as an in-office team (minimum 3 days per week). We're a close-knit group of 29 who are passionate about bikepacking and outdoor adventure.
The Opportunity
- Klaviyo flows - welcome series, cart/browse abandonment, post-purchase, winback (some live already, your job is to create, optimise, and iterate)
- Weekly email campaigns - content calendar, briefing our freelance designer, sending
- Segmentation - building and refining customer segments (experience level, riding style, engagement)
- List growth & health - subscriber growth, engagement rate, unsubscribe rate
- Testing - A/B tests on subject lines, content, send times
- Reporting - monthly summary of email performance (traffic, conversion, what's working, what's next)
What You'll Need
Essential
- Proven experience running Klaviyo (or a similar ESP) day-to-day – building flows, segmentation, and campaigns independently, not just executing someone else's setup
- Strong grasp of email fundamentals – deliverability, list health, segmentation logic, what drives opens/clicks vs what erodes them
- Data-comfortable – you can look at flow/campaign performance and know what's working, what's not, and why
- Strong copywriting/content instincts for premium brand tone – you can write (or brief) emails that don't feel like discount blasts
- Comfortable working independently with minimal ramp-up – this is a 12-month cover role, we need someone self-sufficient quickly
- Organised and reliable – you'll be trusted to run this function largely unsupervised day-to-day
Highly Desirable
- D2C ecommerce experience, ideally with premium or considered-purchase products
- Experience briefing designers/freelancers for email creative
- Interest in outdoor/adventure/cycling (bonus, not essential)
Handover
Our current CRM Manager will train you before she leaves (end of October), covering flows, segmentation logic, brand voice, and current priorities. You'll have crossover time to ask questions and get comfortable before you're on your own. Depending on how the business evolves over the year, there may be scope for the role to extend or shift shape - but the core commitment is the 12-month cover period.
The Team & Environment
You'll join our 8-person marketing team and work closely with our experienced designers and the CMO. Expect autonomy, fast pace, and direct revenue impact.
Working arrangement: we operate with a minimum 60% of your time in the office.
