Operations Manager - Scaffolding
We are looking for an experienced and driven Scaffolding Operations Manager to join one of the fastest-growing scaffolding companies in the North West, backed by a strong and diverse client portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can manage teams, coordinate resources, maintain high safety standards, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of multiple scaffolding teams across live projects and sites.
- Plan workloads, allocate labour, coordinate materials, and manage plant, transport, deliveries, and collections.
- Ensure all scaffolding works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in line with company standards.
- Carry out site visits, audits, toolbox talks, quality checks, and safety inspections.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, risk assessments, method statements, and industry best practice.
- Lead, support, and develop supervisors, scaffolders, yard teams, and operational staff.
- Manage team performance, attendance, training requirements, and recruitment needs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, site managers, and internal departments.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, profitability, and operational processes.
- Support commercial planning, project reporting, cost control, and business growth initiatives.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience managing scaffolding operations, contracts, teams, or site delivery.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and planning skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work confidently with clients, contractors, and site teams.
- Sound knowledge of scaffolding regulations, safe systems of work, RAMS, and construction health and safety requirements.
- Commercial awareness, problem-solving ability, and confidence making decisions under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and teams at the same time.
- Full UK driving licence.
- CISRS Scaffolding
- SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent qualifications would be an advantage
