About us
We are a small property development business converting commercial buildings into residential flats. Our current work includes a nine flat conversion in Stratford-upon-Avon and further schemes in Gloucester, with a steady pipeline behind them. Sites are run properly, drawings are issued, materials are ordered ahead of you and you get paid on time.
The role
We are looking for one experienced carpenter to work for us directly across our sites. We need someone who can pick up a drawing, set out their own work and get on with it without being chased.
Work is a full mix of first and second fix:
- First fix: stud partitions, floor and ceiling joists, firrings, roof timbers, noggins, door linings, plywood and OSB decking, acoustic floor build-ups, resilient bar and batten to walls and ceilings
- Second fix: hanging doors including fire doors, skirting, architrave, ironmongery, stairs and balustrade, kitchen fitting, wardrobes, loft hatches, boxing in and general finishing
- General site work: setting out, occasional structural repairs, snagging and making good
Most of our work is conversion and refurbishment rather than new build, so we want someone comfortable working with existing buildings that are not square, plumb or level.
What we need from you
- Time served carpenter with a minimum of five years on site, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Site Carpentry or equivalent
- Confident on both first and second fix to a good finish
- Able to read and work from architects' and structural drawings
- Full UK driving licence
- Own hand tools and power tools
- Reliable, tidy and safe. We are working in occupied streets and town centre locations
- Happy to travel between our Stratford-upon-Avon and Gloucester sites. Around an hour between the two
Useful but not essential
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- First aid at work, PASMA, IPAF, abrasive wheels, asbestos awareness

- £37,000 - £41,000 depending on experience

Employed or self-employed
