Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in meal and food preparation, support kitchen operations, and ensure a clean and organised environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced catering or restaurant setting, with a focus on food safety and efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Support catering services by preparing ingredients and organising supplies
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and sanitising equipment
- Help with basic cooking tasks as directed, ensuring adherence to food safety standards
- Organise and store ingredients and utensils in proper locations
- Support serving staff during busy periods by providing necessary items or assistance
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or kitchen environment is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and hygiene standards
- Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and food service
