Job Description: Domestic Assistant
Location: Milbanke HFE, Station Road, Kirkham, PR4 2HA
Hours: 17.5 hours per week, 14:00-19:00
Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and detail‑focused Domestic Assistant to join our team at Milbanke HFE. You will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and be committed to delivering high standards of cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties across the building, including communal areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and resident areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish surfaces as required.
- Clean bathrooms and toilets to a high standard, ensuring hygiene and safety at all times.
- Replace consumables such as soap, towels, and toilet paper.
- Empty bins and manage waste disposal in line with organisational procedures.
- Follow designated cleaning schedules and maintain appropriate cleaning records.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with training.
- Report maintenance issues or concerns promptly to the management team.
Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.

Essential:
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Awareness of health and safety and infection‑control practices.
Desirable:
- Previous cleaning or domestic experience.
- Experience in a care, or healthcare environment.
Working Hours
Total weekly hours: 17.5, 14:00-19:00
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Thursday, Friday
