Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials, managing stock, and ensuring smooth shipping and receiving operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience to develop their skills within a fast-paced environment. The position is paid and suitable for applicants who are organised, physically fit, and eager to contribute to our operational success the candidate MUST have counter balance experience for an immediate start.
Duties
- Handling materials safely and efficiently across the warehouse, including loading and unloading goods from lorries.
- Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery following health and safety guidelines.
- Managing inventory using warehouse management systems to track stock levels accurately.
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch in accordance with customer specifications.
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation.
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet required standards before dispatch.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling.
- Performing mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance when necessary.
- Ensuring the warehouse remains clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in materials handling within a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift licence or experience operating forklift trucks safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for stock control and order processing.
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures.
- Previous warehouse experience, including picking & packing, stocking, and quality control tasks.
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stock movement or loading activities.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records.

Pay: From £13.50 per hour
