About the role
Oasis Care & Training Agency is recruiting caring, reliable and compassionate Care Workers to support people in their own homes throughout Leicestershire. You will provide person-centred care that promotes dignity, privacy, independence, choice and wellbeing, in line with each service user’s care plan and Oasis Care & Training Agency policies.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Support service users with personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing, toileting and getting in and out of bed.
- Support mobility and safe moving and handling in accordance with the care plan and training, including appropriate equipment such as hoists where required.
- Prepare meals and drinks and provide support with eating and drinking where required.
- Provide medication support only in accordance with the service user’s care plan, company policy, training and assessed competency.
- Support service users with household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, bed linen and shopping where these are included in the care plan.
- Promote independence and encourage service users to do as much as they can for themselves.
- Observe and report changes in a service user’s health, wellbeing, behaviour or circumstances promptly.
- Maintain accurate and timely care records and complete required documentation.
- Follow safeguarding, infection prevention and control, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- Attend required training, supervision, competency assessments and team meetings.
Travel requirements
This is a community-based role and Care Workers may be required to travel between service users’ homes across Leicestershire. Driving is not required for all areas; however, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle may be preferable or necessary for some locations and care packages, depending on travel distances and local transport. Non-driving applicants are welcome and will be considered for areas where they can travel reliably between scheduled care visits.

Training and competency
Care Workers are expected to complete all training and competency assessments required for their role and keep their knowledge and practical skills up to date. Staff must only undertake tasks for which they have received appropriate training and have been assessed as competent where required.
