Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Front of House Member to join the team at FUMI, a high-end Japanese restaurant in Brighton. In this role, you will play an important part in delivering an exceptional dining experience, ensuring dishes are delivered efficiently and professionally while supporting the wider front-of-house team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and wants to develop their skills within a premium restaurant setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly and professionally, ensuring dishes reach the correct table and guest
- Assist the floor team throughout service to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them effectively to the kitchen and bar
- Clear tables efficiently
- Reset and prepare tables to the restaurant’s standards between guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the dining area and front-of-house
- Support the team with running plates, collecting glassware, and other service tasks as required
- Communicate confidently and professionally with guests, answering questions and assisting with requests
- Work closely with kitchen and floor staff to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Uphold the high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness, and attention to detail expected at FUMI
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or food running
- Experience working in a high-end or fast-paced restaurant environment is advantageous
- Confidence taking orders and interacting with guests
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner are essential
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while remaining calm and positive
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and support the wider team
- Availability to work evenings and weekends is required
