Overview
We are seeking a motivated Fixed Term Warehouse Operative with Forklift to join our team and support our warehousing operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth handling of goods and maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Handle materials efficiently through picking, packing, stocking, and order fulfillment processes
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts safely and effectively to load, unload, and move stock
- Manage shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatches
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and update stock records
- Conduct quality control checks to verify product integrity and adherence to standards
- Assist with mechanical maintenance or troubleshooting of warehouse equipment when necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote safety and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including materials handling and stock management
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely (certification preferred)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, load & unload tasks, and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and quality control processes
- Mechanical aptitude or basic mechanical knowledge is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
