Qualified SEND Teacher Required – Non-Verbal Learner (CR0)
GoWise Learning is seeking a compassionate, creative and experienced qualified teacher to provide weekly 1:1 educational support for a non-verbal learner with complex learning needs.
Location: CR0 (Croydon)
Mondays, 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Pay: £30 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Learner
We are supporting a delightful non-verbal learner who benefits from a highly personalised, relationship-based approach to learning. The learner communicates through facial expressions, vocalisations, behaviour and interaction with trusted adults.
The learner enjoys sensory activities, visual supports, cause-and-effect learning, interactive games and hands-on experiences. He responds particularly well to patient, playful and engaging adults who are able to adapt learning to his interests and communication style.

- Early literacy and numeracy skills
- Emotional awareness
- Fine motor development
- Independence skills
- Sensory-based learning
- Play and social interaction
The successful teacher will be able to create meaningful learning opportunities through play, communication and highly individualised teaching approaches.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
- Have experience teaching pupils with SEND and complex learning needs
- Be patient, flexible and child-centred in their practice
- Be able to adapt learning objectives to meet individual developmental needs
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and families
Essential Requirements:
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
✅ Right to Work in the UK
✅ Experience supporting pupils with SEND
✅ Strong safeguarding knowledge
✅ Ability to travel to CR0 (Croydon)
Desirable:
Experience working with non-verbal learners
Knowledge of Autism, communication differences and sensory needs
Experience using Makaton, PECS, AAC or other communication-support approaches
