Water Hygiene Technician (PPM / Monitoring)
Location: Yorkshire & Greater Manchester (field-based, company vehicle provided)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Company vehicle, plus vehicle, fuel card and benefits
Do the job properly. Build a career that lasts.
Water Hygiene Services Ltd is one of the few remaining independently owned water hygiene providers in the UK. That independence matters: we answer to our clients and our standards, not to a head office chasing volume. We do structured, high-quality compliance work in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274 – and we do it properly, every time.
We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Water Hygiene Technician to join our team covering Yorkshire and the North East. You’ll be out on site across commercial, healthcare and public sector premises, keeping water systems safe and compliant, and you’ll be trusted to manage your own workload and get on with it.
If you’ve got experience in water hygiene, great. If you haven’t but you’re practical, conscientious and want to learn a trade with real long-term demand, we’ll train you.
What you’ll be doing
- Routine monitoring of hot and cold water systems
- Collecting water samples for laboratory analysis, including Legionella
- Inspecting cold water storage tanks and associated systems
- TMV inspections and servicing
- Showerhead cleaning and disinfection
- LPHW sampling and basic system checks
- Spotting and reporting non-compliances or system issues
- Completing clear, accurate digital reports using our systems
- Working to ACOP L8 and HSG274 on every job
What we’re looking for
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Water hygiene or monitoring experience – preferred, not essential
- A good understanding of building water systems, or the aptitude to pick it up quickly
- Attention to detail – this is compliance work, and it has to be right
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage your own day
- Good communication and a professional manner on client sites
- Willingness to travel across the region and occasionally stay away
What you’ll get
- Competitive salary
- Company vehicle and fuel card
- Company phone / tablet
- Uniform, tools and PPE all provided
- Pension scheme
- Ongoing training and development, with a clear route to progress
- A stable, long-term role in a growing independent business where your work is noticed
