Administrative Assistant / Officer / Business Support Officer – Level 3
About the Role
We are recruiting an Administrative Assistant / Officer / Business Support Officer to provide professional administrative and business support to Social Care teams. This role involves handling sensitive and confidential safeguarding and service user information, accurately processing and updating information, and contributing to the delivery of an efficient, effective and high-quality service to residents.
You will work as part of the Single Point of Access Team, managing a range of administrative and data processing duties while maintaining confidentiality, adhering to Council policies and data protection requirements, and ensuring high standards of accuracy and customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing professional administrative and business support to Social Care teams
- Handling sensitive and confidential safeguarding and service user information appropriately
- Accurately entering, checking and updating numerical and written information on the Council's customer database
- Processing information efficiently and accurately within required statutory timescales
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy when processing and formatting information
- Following Council policies, procedures and data protection requirements
- Working effectively as part of the Single Point of Access Team
- Supporting the delivery of an efficient, effective and high-quality service to residents
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative, business support or similar role
- Good standard of education with strong literacy and written communication skills
- Good typing skills and a high level of accuracy when entering and formatting data
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work fully on-site at the Council offices in Colwyn Bay
- Must live locally or within a reasonable commuting distance of the workplace
Desirable
- Experience using WCCIS or a similar social care/client database
- Previous experience working within a Social Care, local authority or public-sector environment
- Ability to converse in Welsh
