Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering and cooking, with previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred. Duties
- Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to specified recipes and standards
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with daily operations, including ingredient organisation and portioning
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and prepared foods to prevent contamination
- Help with serving meals to customers or guests as required
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with setup and breakdown
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Experience in meal preparation, food presentation, and serving is advantageous
