Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Night Senior Carer to join our team. This vital role involves supervising overnight care activities, ensuring residents’ safety, and maintaining the highest standards of care throughout the night. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for senior care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all care activities during the night shift, ensuring smooth operations and resident well-being
- Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and leadership to maintain high standards of care
- Implement and review individual care plans, ensuring they are followed accurately and updated as needed
- Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, coordinating appropriate actions with healthcare professionals or emergency services
- Maintain clear communication with day staff to ensure continuity of care and accurate handovers
- Use IT systems to document resident information, incident reports, and shift logs efficiently
- Ensure the safety and security of residents by conducting regular checks of the premises during your shift
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home environment, particularly in senior or elderly care
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of creating and following care plans tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Familiarity with IT systems used for documentation in healthcare settings
