Purpose of the Role
The Market Research Consultant will undertake qualitative and quantitative business research to support the company's strategic growth objectives. The role involves analysing market trends, customer behaviour, competitor activity, emerging technologies and industry developments to identify commercial opportunities for Sharp Brains' portfolio of IT and business solutions.
The post holder will provide evidence-based recommendations to senior management to support business planning, product positioning, service development, pricing strategies and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative market research projects.
- Analyse UK and international IT services, managed services, cybersecurity, AI, cloud computing, ERP, CRM and BPO markets.
- Research emerging technologies, customer requirements and industry trends.
- Gather, verify and interpret market intelligence from multiple sources.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking including pricing, service offerings, market positioning and go-to-market strategies.
- Identify new market opportunities, sectors and customer segments.
- Produce detailed market research reports, business intelligence papers and executive presentations.
- Present research findings and commercial recommendations to senior management.
- Support the development of new service offerings based on market demand.
- Analyse customer feedback, market surveys and industry data to improve products and services.
- Monitor industry legislation, procurement trends and public sector technology initiatives.
- Work with sales, marketing and product teams to provide market insight for campaigns and business development.
- Evaluate customer needs and recommend changes to product design, pricing, service packaging and promotional activities.
- Develop research methodologies including surveys, interviews, competitor analysis and desk-based research.
- Maintain accurate research databases and knowledge repositories.
- Support strategic business planning through ongoing market intelligence.
Essential Experience
- Experience conducting business or market research.
- Experience analysing qualitative and quantitative data.
- Experience preparing professional research reports and presentations.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Power BI or similar analytical tools.
- Ability to interpret commercial and industry data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Experience
- Research within the IT services, technology or cybersecurity sectors.
- Knowledge of CRM, ERP, AI, Cloud Computing or Managed Services markets.
- Experience using market intelligence platforms.
- Experience producing competitor intelligence reports.

- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in one of the following:

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
