We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Gardener to join a well-established Private Estate in the Scottish Borders. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with horticultural knowledge, a proactive approach and able to work as part of a team. The main house on the estate is occupied, and there are also seasonal holiday cottages, so a professional, discreet, and respectful approach to working around residents and guests is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance of private gardens to a high standard
Lawn care, including use of a ride-on mower
Plant care, including planting, pruning, and seasonal maintenance
Preparing and maintaining flower beds and bedding displays
Hedge maintenance, including care and shaping of a mature holly hedge
Upkeep of borders, pathways, and overall garden presentation
Routine maintenance and care of gardening equipment and machinery
Assisting with ongoing improvements to the gardens
Candidate Requirements:
Experience in a similar role
A positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a small, friendly team
Confident operating garden machinery, including ride-on mowers
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Full UK driving licence essential
Salary: Dependent on skills and experience
Hour: Full-time (40 hours per week)
