HGV Projects Fitter
Location: Zone 2, Deeside Industrial Estate
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Pay: From £15.50 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and practical HGV Projects Fitter to join our client’s team. You will be responsible for fitting, piping and wiring hydraulic equipment to HGVs, working with leading manufacturers including Meiller, Palfinger and Hiab.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with mechanical or fitting experience who is confident using tools and has good attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit HGV equipment including skip loaders, hook loaders, cranes, cement mixers, subframes and couplings
- Install hydraulic systems, pipework and components
- Read and follow hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Follow manufacturer Body Builder guidelines
- Fit lateral protection and rear underrun equipment
- Use hand and power tools including drills, mag-drills, impact guns and grinders
- Work from job sheets and complete tasks to the required standard
- Use an overhead crane (training provided)
- Carry out occasional off-site work supporting the service team
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience using hand and power tools
- Mechanical or engineering background preferred
- Basic understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic schematics
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Comfortable working in a physical, hands-on environment
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- MIG welding experience desirable but not essential
- HGV, commercial vehicle or vehicle fitting experience desirable
- Full UK driving licence preferred
