About the Role
As a Children's Residential Team Leader, you'll be responsible for leading shifts, supporting your colleagues and helping to ensure the home consistently delivers high-quality, child-focused care.
You'll work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain a positive, well-organised home where children feel secure, routines are consistent and every member of the team understands their role in achieving positive outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining direct support for young people with coaching, mentoring and operational responsibilities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead shifts and oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the home.
- Support, coach and motivate Residential Support Workers, encouraging high standards of practice.
- Build positive and meaningful relationships with children and young people through consistent, therapeutic support.
- Contribute to care planning, risk management and placement reviews.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and personal development.
- Work alongside families, education providers, social workers and other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures, company policies and Ofsted standards are followed at all times.
- Complete and review records, reports and documentation to maintain compliance and quality standards.
- Help create a positive team culture where communication, accountability and continuous improvement are encouraged.
About You
We're looking for someone who leads with empathy, communicates with confidence and enjoys helping others succeed.
You'll ideally have:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification (essential).
- Previous experience within a children's residential care setting.
- Experience leading shifts or supervising colleagues within a residential environment.
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
