Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pub Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our pub. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, managing staff, driving sales, maintaining high operational standards, and ensuring compliance with licensing, health and safety, and food hygiene regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the pub, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Lead, motivate, train, and supervise front-of-house and bar staff.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints professionally.
- Recruit, schedule, and manage staff rotas to meet business needs.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.
- Manage stock ordering, inventory control, and supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
- Oversee cash handling, banking, daily reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Monitor labour and operating costs to achieve budget targets.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure excellent food and beverage service.
- Plan and promote events, entertainment, and seasonal promotions to increase customer engagement.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation throughout the pub.
- Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and follow company procedures.
- Handle opening and closing procedures, including security checks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pub Manager, Bar Manager, Restaurant Manager, or in a similar hospitality management role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of licensing regulations, health and safety, food hygiene, and employment legislation.
- Experience with stock control, budgeting, and financial management.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy hospitality environment.
- Proficient in EPOS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Personal Licence Holder (preferred but not essential).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
