Following Nicolson O’Brien Solicitors’ recent acquisition of Forrest, Campbell & Anderson in Carluke, we are continuing to invest in and expand our team in South Lanarkshire.
As part of this growth, we are looking to recruit a Conveyancing Legal Administrator to join our busy and friendly Carluke office.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and client-focused individual to provide administrative support to our Conveyancing Team.
Previous experience working within a legal environment is highly desirable. Conveyancing experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
The Role
As a Conveyancing Legal Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting our Fee Earners and helping residential property transactions progress smoothly from initial instruction through to completion.
The role will involve a mixture of legal administration, client communication and case support. You will regularly communicate with clients, solicitors, mortgage lenders and other third parties while ensuring files are kept organised and transactions continue to progress efficiently.
You will be joining us at an exciting time. Following the acquisition of Forrest, Campbell & Anderson by Nicolson O’Brien Solicitors, we are investing in our Carluke operation, expanding the team and continuing to develop our presence in South Lanarkshire.

Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Opening new conveyancing files and carrying out initial administrative procedures
- Issuing Terms of Business and Purchase and Sale Information Packs
- Communicating with clients by telephone and email and providing regular updates
- Assisting Fee Earners with the day-to-day progression of conveyancing transactions
- Preparing correspondence and documentation
- Liaising with other solicitors, mortgage lenders, factors, search providers and Registers of Scotland
- Obtaining information and documentation required to progress transactions
- Assisting with the preparation of written offers
- Managing and updating case files and client information
- Assisting with client ledgers and financial administration
- Assisting with LBTT returns and registration of deeds where required
- Answering incoming calls and dealing with general client enquiries
- Providing administrative support to the wider Conveyancing Team
- Helping to ensure clients receive an excellent level of communication and service throughout their transaction
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone who:
- Ideally has previous experience working within a legal office or similar professional environment
- Has strong administrative and organisational skills
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is confident communicating with clients by telephone and email
- Has a professional and friendly telephone manner
- Can manage a number of competing priorities
- Is comfortable working in a busy, deadline-driven environment
- Is proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks
- Has good written and verbal communication skills
- Is computer literate and confident using Microsoft Office
- Can work independently while also being a strong team player
- Has conveyancing experience or knowledge – advantageous but not essential
