Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a good relationship with people living with the daily effects of dementia. We provide access to an Adult day service five days per week Hours will be 4 per day, split between morning and afternoon.
Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on vehicles, including oil changes, tyre pressure, and fluid levels to ensure optimal performance.
- Deliver group members to Harwood Court promptly while maintaining safe driving standards
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding pick Up and drop off schedules and any potential issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times.
- Assist in access and egress of group members with dementia as required, ensuring safety and stability.
- Must be able to work on their own initiative.
Experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance tasks on vehicles is desirable
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
- Ability to be supportive, helpful and respectful of people with dementia.
