We are looking for a Laundry Assistant to join our welcoming team at Danesford Grange Care Home. On average 28 hours per week shift times from 8am - 5pm with a 1-hour lunch.
Danesford Grange is a privately owned care home based in the idyllic town of Bridgnorth, Shropshire. The home, sat in around 2 acres of land is located in the Shropshire countryside right on the bank of the river seven. The current founders have owned the home since 1990.
Danesford Grange offers a warm and friendly atmosphere for both the residents and the staff. The dedicated team of staff provide high-quality nursing care to the elderly and residents with dementia.
Principal Responsibilities:
To manage the laundry procedures and output of laundry, therefore preventing unnecessary build-up
To be aware of the Health & Safety statement and of the COSHH statement
To report any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance or cannot be kept to standard through normal procedures
To ensure that laundry is labelled and identified correctly and stored away in correct areas.
To ensure regular supply of washing powder/tablets
To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the daily de-fluffing of the dryer(s), and reporting any defects to the person in charge
To ensure the correct use of coloured laundry bags with particular regard to soiled and infected items
To allocate clothes to their appropriate baskets
To keep the laundry room and store area in clean and hygienic condition
To co-operate and maintain good working relationships with all departments and other staff
To attend such training courses as it deemed necessary by the management
To maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with the procedures
