Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious CPCS Telehandler operator to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for manoeuvring heavy materials across various sites using a telehandler, ensuring efficient and secure handling of loads. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in commercial driving and mechanical operations to contribute to large-scale projects while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate the CPCS-certified telehandler to lift, move, and position materials accurately on construction sites.
- Conduct routine inspections of the telehandler to ensure it is in safe working condition, reporting any faults promptly.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of lorries, ensuring loads are secure and balanced during transit.
- Coordinate with site managers and other operatives to facilitate smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Support other plant machinery operations such as excavators when required, demonstrating versatility on site.
Skills
- Proven experience in operating a CPCS telehandler in a construction environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks and identify potential issues with plant machinery.
- Familiarity with operating excavators is advantageous, providing additional versatility on site.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and site supervisors.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high safety standards.
